About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the infrastructure design and execution of a large-scale cloud migration project involving ~80 Java Spring Boot microservices transitioning from Microsoft Azure to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This role focuses exclusively on cloud infrastructure planning, provisioning, and migration execution. A separate Application Architect will oversee the application layer and code-related migration activities.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the infrastructure architecture and design for migration of Java-based microservices from Azure to AWS.

- Define and implement networking, compute, storage, security, IAM, VPCs, and high availability in AWS.

- Design multi-account AWS landing zone (if applicable) and ensure best practices in governance and security.

- Evaluate and select appropriate AWS services (ECS, EKS, EC2, ALB/NLB, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Route 53, etc.

- Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using Terraform for repeatable deployments.

- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to design CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and alerting.

- Work closely with the Application Architect to ensure seamless infrastructure readiness for migrated services.

- Plan and execute infrastructure migration strategy in phases, ensuring minimal downtime and risk.

- Conduct cost estimation and optimization analysis for AWS resources.

- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Qualifications :

- 10+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in cloud infrastructure architecture.

- Proven expertise in AWS infrastructure design and implementation (certification preferred : AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional).

- Prior experience in cloud-to-cloud migration, specifically Azure to AWS, is required.

- Hands-on experience with Terraform.

- Deep understanding of AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, NAT, etc.), security (IAM, KMS, Security Groups), and monitoring (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, etc.

- Familiar with DevOps practices and tools (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

- Good understanding of the various Azure cloud services.

- Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

- AWS migration experience using AWS Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service, or CloudEndure.

- Familiarity with hybrid cloud scenarios and cross-cloud networking.

- Exposure to service mesh architectures (e.g., Istio, AWS App Mesh).
