Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (Middleware) with strong expertise in Python, SQL, and API integrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing middleware services that enable seamless data exchange between backend systems and front-end applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI (or similar).

- Build and integrate RESTful APIs to ensure seamless communication between backend systems and frontend applications.

- Ensure smooth data exchange across systems, including site and corporate parent endpoints referenced in Site Health Diagnostics.

- Understand, interpret, and enhance existing codebases to align with business and technical requirements.

- Implement backend updates in line with planned releases and feature enhancements.

- Manage and support middleware deployment pipelines across DEV, QA, and PROD environments.

- Develop and optimize API gateways, microservices, and orchestration layers.

- Collaborate closely with UI, data engineering, and product teams to deliver enhancements and resolve integration issues.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend code and system-to-system workflows.

- Maintain clear technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 4-6 years of experience in backend development using Python.

- Candidate should have cloud experience.

- Hands-on experience with API development using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

- Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and proficiency in SQL querying.

- Experience working with middleware architectures and system integrations.

- Familiarity with testing frameworks, debugging, and performance optimization.

- Experience managing deployments across DEV, QA, and PROD environments.

- Ability to understand and enhance existing codebases.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with microservices architecture and API gateways.

- Exposure to cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.

- Prior experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
