We are seeking an experienced Lead QA Automation Engineer to drive quality assurance strategy and automation excellence across our products.

The role combines hands-on automation development, framework ownership, and technical leadership, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable software delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, and team leadership, and will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

Automation Strategy & Leadership :

- Define and implement the test automation strategy aligned with product and engineering goals.

- Own and enhance automation frameworks for web, API, and backend systems.

- Establish QA best practices, coding standards, and quality benchmarks across teams.

- Lead and mentor QA automation engineers, providing technical guidance and reviews.

Hands-On Automation Development :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using modern automation tools.

- Ensure high test coverage for functional, regression, and integration testing.

- Develop and maintain API automation and backend validation tests.

- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve testability.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering :

- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

- Work with DevOps teams to optimize test execution, reporting, and feedback loops.

- Monitor test stability, address flaky tests, and improve test performance.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery :

- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and architects to understand requirements and risks.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning.

- Act as a quality advocate throughout the SDLC.

Defect Management & Reporting :

- Oversee defect lifecycle management, prioritization, and root cause analysis.

- Track and report quality metrics, automation coverage, and release readiness to stakeholders.

Professional & Technical Skills :

Must-Have Skills :

- 8+ years of experience in QA and test automation

- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar

- Proficiency in Java / Python / JavaScript for automation development

- Strong experience in API automation (REST Assured, Postman, Karate, etc.)

QA & Engineering Skills :

- Deep understanding of STLC, SDLC, and Agile methodologies

- Experience testing microservices-based and cloud-native applications

- Strong knowledge of test design patterns and automation best practices

Tools & Platforms :

- CI/CD tools : Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps

- Version control : Git

- Defect & test management : JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr

- Familiarity with containerization and cloud environments is a plus

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling)

- Knowledge of BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)

- Exposure to security testing concepts

- Experience working in SaaS or product-based companies

Education :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
