About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Oracle who is hands-on, dependable, and ready to grow into an Oracle Lead role. You will build and fix Oracle-based solutions for our insurance products, guide junior team members, and gradually take on ownership of delivery, quality, and team management.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deliver Oracle-based solutions, enhancements, and defect fixes

- Provide quick, effective solutions to technical and business-critical issues

- Understand business requirements proactively and raise risks and questions early

- Take ownership of assigned tasks, changes, and projects and see them through to completion

- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the team

- Take on lead responsibilities over time: planning work, tracking progress, and getting consistent output from the team

- Deliver high-quality work through code reviews, thorough testing, and best practices

- Contribute to Oracle architecture decisions on performance, scalability, and maintainability

- Build and support API integrations and API gateway processing

- Use AI tools (especially Claude) to speed up development, debugging, and defect resolution

Required Skills :

- 6 to 9 years of experience with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle

- Must have Oracle (Database, PL/SQL), strong SQL, Oracle Reports, Jasper Reports, API integrations, hands-on use of AI tools (especially Claude)

- Good to have Oracle architecture skills, Cloud with AWS, API gateway processing, Java; experience with policy administration, claims, billing, or accounting systems in insurance

- Experience guiding or mentoring team members

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Insurance domain and business functional knowledge

Qualification :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (Master's preferred).

- Senior Software Engineer - Oracle, then Oracle Lead after demonstrating ownership of delivery and team guidance

- Hands-on exposure to architecture, API integration, and insurance business flows

- Comfortable working on-site in Tharamani, Chennai, 5 days a week

- Already uses AI tools like Claude in day-to-day development work
