Job Description - AVEVA PI System Engineer / Consultant

We are looking for an experienced AVEVA PI System Engineer with strong expertise across the AVEVA PI Suite, including PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Vision, PI Web API, and PI Analytics. The role involves implementing, configuring, administering, and integrating PI systems with industrial control systems and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in PI system implementation, upgrades, application development, dashboard creation, and production support. Exposure to Oil & Gas, Energy, or Utilities is preferred.

Total Experience : 4 - 8 years

Responsibilities :

- Implement, configure, administer, and upgrade AVEVA PI systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and maintaining configuration and data quality.

- Manage PI System installation, configuration, commissioning, PI Tag Database, ProcessBook graphics, and PI DataLink reports.

- Implement and configure PI Asset Framework, including asset hierarchies, analytics, and Event Frames.

- Develop and configure PI Vision graphics and dashboards for operational monitoring and reporting.

- Configure and maintain PI interfaces and connectors to integrate data from DCS, SCADA, and other historians such as GE Proficy, Wonderware, Honeywell PHD, and IP.21.

- Develop PI-based applications using PI SDK, PI AF SDK, PI API, VB.NET, C#, .NET, Java, and PI OLEDB.

- Integrate AVEVA PI applications with enterprise systems such as SAP, production optimisation platforms, and asset management applications.

- Develop dashboards using PI Vision and other technologies such as HTML5, SharePoint, and Spotfire.

- Support PI system rollouts, upgrades, production operations, and troubleshooting.

- Conduct PI Administrator and end-user training.

- Review technical solutions to ensure quality, performance, security, and adherence to development standards.

- Contribute to solution design, estimations, proof of concepts, proposals, and process optimisation initiatives.

- Mentor junior team members and collaborate with customers and stakeholders on technical requirements.

Requirements :

- 4 - 8 years of relevant experience working with the AVEVA PI Suite, including at least 4 years of hands-on experience with PI technologies.

- Strong knowledge of PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Web API, AF Analytics, Event Frames, PI DataLink, PI Vision, PI Integrator for Business Analytics, PI Config, and PI Interfaces/Connectors.

- Hands-on experience in PI System administration, implementation, configuration, commissioning, and upgrades.

- Experience with PI AF asset hierarchy design, analytics, PI Vision dashboards, and graphics development.

- Strong understanding of industrial data integration with DCS, SCADA, and other historian platforms.

- Experience in PI application development using PI SDK, PI AF SDK, PI API, .NET, C#, VB.NET, Java, or PI OLEDB.

- Experience integrating PI systems with enterprise applications such as SAP and asset management solutions.

- Knowledge of dashboard development using PI Vision, HTML5, SharePoint, or Spotfire.

- Understanding of system security, risk assessment, performance optimisation, and development best practices.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, customer engagement, and communication skills.

- Experience with the full implementation lifecycle, including planning, design, deployment, and production support, is preferred.

- Exposure to Oil & Gas, Energy, or Utilities is an added advantage.

- Experience with AVEVA System Platform is preferred.
