Universal Destinations and Experiences is going through a Journey and Personalization project to better develop the Guest Journey and Experience through automation strategy and capabilities for various use cases including but not limited to real-time personalization, contextual engagement through cross-channels, Segmentation and Audience Strategy and development, overarching omnichannel Journey and Journey orchestration development. They are looking to mature their Marketing Technology platform through an AEP (Adobe Experience Platform) implementation to support more advanced business use cases and support scalability by using cutting edge latest technology and techniques.
Day to Day :
The team is re-imagining 47 campaigns that are currently in Unica moving to AJO... this person will be responsible for testing campaigns, components etc to ensure proper execution.
Qualifications/Responsibilities :

About the Opportunity :
Universal Destinations and Experiences is undergoing a transformative Journey and Personalization initiative to elevate the Guest Journey and Experience through advanced automation, real-time personalization, and omnichannel engagement.
This is a platform-level transformation, not just a tool upgrade. After years of investment in standalone implementations, our client is migrating to an AEP-centric architecture with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Federated Audience Composition (FAC), Real-Time CDP, and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA). This promises truly unified customer data powering consistent personalization everywhere but requires rethinking data flows, rebuilding integrations, and reimagining how we test marketing technology.
We're seeking an experienced Adobe QE professional who understands this shift from marketing tool thinking to platform thinking, and can both contribute strategically to our quality approach and execute hands-on testing as we migrate 47+ campaigns from Unica while simultaneously establishing AEP and its native applications as our foundation.
What You'll Do :
Strategic Contribution :
- Design End-to-End Test Strategies : Create comprehensive test approaches that account for the complexity of AEP-native architecture (Real-Time CDP profiles, AJO journey orchestration, FAC audience composition, CJA analytics, decisioning engines)
- Platform-Level Testing Mindset : Move beyond testing individual campaigns to validating data pipelines, profile unification, federated audience composition, journey orchestration logic, and cross-channel activation
- Plan for Architectural Complexity : Develop testing frameworks that address rebuilt integrations, new data flows, and the relationships between AEP, Real-Time CDP, AJO, Target, Campaign, FAC, CJA, and Adobe Analytics
- Adobe Quality Expertise : Bring deep knowledge of testing considerations across Adobe's latest ecosystemunderstanding how Real-Time Customer Profile, Journey Optimizer orchestration, and Federated Audience Composition change testing requirements fundamentally
- Collaborate on Quality Standards : Partner with technical architects and delivery teams to establish quality practices appropriate for AEP-native implementations (AJO journeys, Real-Time CDP segments, FAC federated queries, Offer Decisioning)
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and defect prevention as we mature from standalone tools to unified platform architecture with cutting-edge capabilities
Hands-On Execution :
Campaign Migration & Platform Testing :
- Lead end-to-end testing for 47 campaigns migrating from Unica to AJOwithin the context of new AEP-native architecture
- Test campaign components, personalization logic, and audience targeting while validating underlying AEP data flows, Real-Time CDP profile unification, and FAC audience composition
- Validate that Target activities and AJO journeys work correctly with Real-Time CDP audiences and FAC-composed segments rather than standalone tool segments
- Test AJO journey orchestration including multi-step flows, decision splits, wait conditions, audience entry/exit, and cross-channel message delivery
- Validate Offer Decisioning integration with AJO and web/app channels for real-time offer selection
- Test rebuilt integrations between AEP, Real-Time CDP, AJO, FAC, Target, Campaign, CJA, and guest touchpoint systems
- Ensure proper data collection, profile updates, segment qualification, audience activation, and journey progression across the platform
Comprehensive Test Planning & Execution :
- Develop detailed test plans and test cases that address both marketing automation and platform architecture concerns
- Execute testing across multiple layers :
1. Data Layer : AEP data ingestion, XDM schema validation, Real-Time CDP profile unification, identity stitching, event streaming
2. Audience Layer : Real-Time CDP segment definition and qualification, FAC federated audience composition across data sources, audience activation to downstream channels
3. Orchestration Layer : AJO journey design validation, trigger logic, decision logic, wait/timing conditions, journey versioning, audience entry/exit rules
4. Decisioning Layer : Adobe Offer Decisioning rules, eligibility, priority, capping, fallback offers, real-time selection
5. Activation Layer : Target personalization, Campaign batch sends, AJO real-time messaging, cross-channel delivery coordination
6. Analytics Layer : CJA reporting accuracy, attribution, journey analytics, cross-channel measurement
7. Integration Layer : System-to-system data flows, API contracts, event streaming, Edge Network delivery
8. Performance Layer : Data processing speed, profile lookup latency, journey execution timing, real-time decisioning response time, FAC query performance
9. Production Validation : Live environment monitoring, guest experience verification, journey completion tracking
- Support UAT by helping business stakeholders understand the implications of AEP-native architecture on campaign and journey testing
Test Automation :
- Develop automation scripts for integration and regression testing across AEP, Real-Time CDP, AJO, FAC, Target, and Campaign
- Build test frameworks that can validate data flows, profile updates, audience composition, journey progression, and offer decisioningnot just campaign execution
- Automate API-level testing for AEP data ingestion, Real-Time CDP audience retrieval, AJO journey triggering, and FAC query execution
- Create reusable validation patterns for common platform scenarios (profile merge, Real-Time CDP segment qualification, FAC federated queries, AJO journey progression, multi-channel activation)
- Develop automated journey testing approaches (simulating customer behavior through multi-step AJO journeys)
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines where applicable
Primary Qualifications :
Adobe Experience Cloud Expertise :
- Hands-on experience testing Adobe Target and/or Campaign in production environments
- Understanding of Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) architecture : Real-Time Customer Profile, Identity Service, XDM schemas, data flows, and audience activation patterns
- Familiarity with AEP-native applications : Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) for journey orchestration, Real-Time CDP for unified profiles and segmentation, Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) for cross-channel analytics
- Knowledge of advanced Adobe capabilities : Federated Audience Composition (FAC) for cross-system audience building, Adobe Offer Decisioning for real-time offer selection, Edge Network for data collection
- Platform thinking : Ability to test beyond individual marketing tools to validate end-to-end data pipelines, journey orchestration, audience composition, and customer profile accuracy
- Experience with or strong interest in testing journey orchestration platforms, real-time decisioning engines, or federated data systems
- Understanding of how migrating from standalone tools to AEP-native architecture fundamentally changes testing requirements
Quality Engineering Experience :
- 3-5 years quality engineering experience in marketing technology, customer experience platforms, or data-intensive applications
- Proven ability to design test strategies for complex, integrated systemsnot just isolated applications
- Experience testing data flows, API integrations, orchestration logic, and platform-level functionality
- Track record of both strategic thinking (what needs testing and why) and hands-on execution (writing tests and finding issues)
- Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements typical of cutting-edge platform migrations
Technical Capabilities :
- Strong test automation skills (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- API testing experience (Postman, REST Assured)critical for validating AEP data ingestion, Real-Time CDP APIs, AJO journey APIs, and FAC queries
- Understanding of web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON) and data formats (JSON, XML, Parquet, XDM)
- Data validation skills : ability to verify profile data, segment membership, journey progression, decisioning outcomes, and data pipeline integrity
- Experience testing event streaming, real-time data processing, orchestration engines, or similar platform capabilities (preferred)
- Familiarity with performance testing for data-intensive systems and real-time decision engines
- Comfortable with CI/CD workflows and testing integration
