IBM ELM Solution Architect

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced IBM ELM Solution Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions.

The role involves supporting the ALM4A programme deployment using IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM), GitLab, and Artifactory on Microsoft Azure Cloud.

The successful candidate will define solution architecture and technical roadmaps, recommend suitable solutions for different product lines, and ensure effective integration across engineering tools and enterprise systems.

This role requires deep expertise in IBM ELM technologies, OSLC-based integrations, and lifecycle management processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the solution architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise-scale ALM solutions using the IBM ELM suite.

- Define architecture and implementation strategies for DOORS Next, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Engineering Test Management (ETM), and Global Configuration Management (GCM).

- Support the deployment of ALM solutions integrated with GitLab and Artifactory on Microsoft Azure Cloud.

- Assess product-line requirements and recommend scalable, maintainable, and efficient ALM solutions aligned with business and engineering objectives.

- Design and manage integrations between IBM ELM and third-party tools using OSLC standards, REST APIs, and the RTC SDK.

- Work with tools such as PureVariants, SmartFacts, DOORS Classic, and Windchill Modeler to support engineering lifecycle and configuration management requirements.

- Establish solution architecture standards, technical guidelines, and implementation roadmaps for ALM platforms.

- Evaluate existing workflows and integrations to identify opportunities for process improvement and technical optimization.

- Coordinate with engineering, development, and programme teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Manage architectural changes, assess their impact, and ensure implementation within agreed timelines.

- Provide technical guidance on integration design, configuration management, and lifecycle tool interoperability.

- Support technical issue resolution and ensure the stability, consistency, and scalability of the overall ALM ecosystem.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise engineering tools, or Application Lifecycle Management solutions.

- Strong hands-on expertise in IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM).

- Solution design and architecture experience across DOORS Next, EWM, ETM, and GCM.

- Experience working with DOORS Classic, PureVariants, SmartFacts, and Windchill Modeler.

- In-depth understanding of OSLC standards and experience designing OSLC-based integrations.

- Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

- Experience using the RTC SDK for integrations with third-party tools.

- Understanding of ALM architecture, engineering workflows, and toolchain integration.

- Experience defining technical roadmaps, architectural strategies, and implementation plans.

- Ability to evaluate change requests, manage technical dependencies, and coordinate implementation across teams.

Preferred Experience :

- Experience supporting enterprise ALM transformation or deployment programmes.

- Familiarity with GitLab, Artifactory, and Microsoft Azure Cloud environments.

- Experience supporting product-line engineering and configuration management processes.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate engineering requirements into architectural recommendations.
