Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with 29 years of hands-on expertise in managing, optimizing, and supporting SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of database architecture, and a collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Development & Design :

- Design and create robust database structures, tables, views, indexes, and other schema objects to meet business and application needs.

Query Writing & Optimization :

- Write and fine-tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting performance.

Code Reusability & Maintainability :

- Develop reusable SQL components such as procedures, functions, and triggers to enhance maintainability and system efficiency.

Security & Maintenance :

- Implement database security policies, perform regular backups, restore operations, and maintain data consistency across environments.

Performance Monitoring :

- Monitor and analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to optimize performance.

Application Support :

- Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration between applications and SQL databases, and resolve related technical issues.

ETL & Data Handling :

- Manage ETL processes extract, transform, and load data into SQL databases from various sources.

Issue Diagnosis & Reporting :

- Create meaningful reports and dashboards; identify and resolve database-related problems proactively.

Technology Upgradation :

- Stay current with evolving SQL Server technologies, tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve database performance.

Required Skills :

- 2 to 9 years of experience in SQL Server database administration and development

- Strong command of T-SQL, query optimization, and database performance tuning

- Experience with backups, restores, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies

- Familiarity with tools like SSMS, Profiler, and Performance Monitor

- Understanding of indexing strategies and execution plans

- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Good to Have :

- Experience with PostgreSQL or other RDBMS

- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)

- Microsoft SQL Server certification is a plus
