Job Summary :

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SQL Database Administrator with 48 years of experience to manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, security, and reliability across development, test, and production environments.

The role requires hands-on SQL Server administration skills, performance tuning knowledge, and the ability to support application and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances

- Monitor database performance, availability, and health

- Perform database backup and restore operations

- Manage and monitor SQL Server Agent jobs

- Support database deployments and release activities

- Troubleshoot performance issues, blocking, and deadlocks

- Execute performance tuning for queries, indexes, and stored procedures

- Monitor database growth, file sizes, and transaction logs

- Apply patches, service packs, and cumulative updates

- Manage database users, roles, and permissions

- Create and maintain maintenance plans

- Support developers with query tuning and schema changes

- Prepare and maintain DBA documentation and SOPs

- Perform archival of tables during maintenance activity

- Participate in on-call or after-hours support when required

Required Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later preferred)

- Strong T-SQL knowledge

- Understanding of backup and recovery models

- Experience in query tuning and execution plan analysis

- Index and statistics management

- Knowledge of SQL Server Agent and scheduled jobs

- Basic performance troubleshooting using DMVs

- Understanding of transaction logs and TempDB

- Familiarity with database security concepts

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to High Availability features (Always On / Log Shipping / Replication)

- Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge

- Experience with monitoring tools

- Exposure to cloud databases (Azure SQL / AWS RDS) is a plus

- Understanding of database deployment processes

Education :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering or equivalent experience
