Designation : Application Support Engineer (L2 Support)
Location : Chennai
Job Summary :
The Application Support Engineer (L2) will be responsible for handling escalated support tickets, performing backend data fixes, and ensuring smooth application operations. The role requires strong SQL expertise, problem-solving skills, and coordination with L3/development teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Handle L2 support tickets escalated from L1 or end-users within defined SLAs
- Perform transactional fixes and data corrections directly in the database/system
- Execute data extraction and sharing based on business or client requirements
- Monitor applications, scheduled jobs, and interfaces to ensure smooth operations
- Analyze issues using logs, database queries, and system behavior
- Write and execute SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation
- Coordinate with L3/Development teams for bug fixes and permanent solutions
- Maintain proper documentation of incidents, fixes, and workarounds
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy while performing fixes
- Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring issues
- Support deployment validations and post-release monitoring
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL (mandatory)
1. Joins, Subqueries, Updates, Deletes
2. Stored Procedures (preferred)
- Experience in Production/Application Support or Ticketing Environment
- Familiarity with tools like Zoho, Jira or similar
- Good understanding of database concepts and data validation techniques
- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot issues independently
- Experience in backend data handling and transaction-level fixes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
