Responsibilities : - Lead the architecture, design, and development of high-performance software applications and scalable software platforms, ensuring robust, reliable, and efficient backend infrastructure. - Proactively identify emerging technology trends and strategically implement cutting-edge technologies to create a scalable, high-performance platform that stays ahead of industry demands. - Lead strategic planning sessions to achieve overarching business goals by identifying and prioritizing key development initiatives, and setting clear timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services. - Actively contribute to the codebase by writing code for critical features and conducting thorough code reviews for features shipped within your team, ensuring high quality and adherence to best practices. - Build, develop, and groom engineering talent and teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and collaboration. - Ensure timely product development, drive continuous improvement in the system's health, and provide essential engineering support across multiple cross-functional teams. Required Skills : - Proven background in building large-scale, high-availability, database-driven applications. - Hands-on experience in Python with a strong track record of developing robust and scalable solutions. - Experience in managing cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). - Ability to lead and mentor a team of 5-10 engineers across varying experience levels, providing technical guidance, performance oversight, and career development support. - Strong understanding of both relational and non-relational databases, including design, optimization, and management. - Familiarity with more than one software development methodology, with a preference for experience with Agile methodology. - Good to have supply chain experience, which would be beneficial for understanding relevant business domains. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with product, design, and other engineering teams. - Experience with one or more of the following backend technologies : Golang, Java, Node.js, Ruby, Django, Flask, J2EE, or Ruby on Rails.
