SQL Server Database Administrator

We're looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our database environments. In this role, you'll manage critical infrastructure, optimize system performance, and collaborate across teams to support our data operations.

What You'll Do :

Ensure High Availability and Disaster Recovery (30%) :

- Design and maintain SQL Server Always On Availability Groups

- Create and execute disaster recovery strategies and failover procedures

- Monitor and maintain RTO/RPO targets across all platforms.

- Installs, configures, upgrades, tunes, and maintains production, development and test in oracle database.

- Creates application database objects (tables indexes, view) and grants/revokes security.

- Participates in application outage incidents to ensure database integrity and functionality.

- Participates in the creation and maintenance of back-up jobs.

- Defines and maintains database problem reporting, tracking, and resolution procedures.

- DR Configuration, sync issues and perform DR Flip activity.

- Provides proactive input into design issues/constraints, performance tuning, and impact analysis of changes.

- Supports, enforces and improves upon existing database development, architecture and naming standards.

Maintain Database Health, Security, and Performance (25%) :

- Manage SQL Server patching and upgrades across versions 2012-2022

- Implement and maintain Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), including key rotation

- Optimize database performance, plan for capacity needs, and manage storage resources

Monitor Systems and Provide Operational Support (20%) :

- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, performance bottlenecks, and outages

- Document configurations, standards, and procedures

- Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to maintain system reliability

Build Data Integration Solutions and Automation (15%) :

- Develop and maintain SSIS ETL packages for data workflows

- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and SQL Agent

- Implement monitoring, alerting, and error handling for data operations

Support Multi-Platform Database Environments (10%) :

- Provide operational support for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases

- Support migrations, upgrades, and compatibility projects

- Collaborate with development teams on cross-platform performance and scalability

What You'll Need :

- 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience

- Practical knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL administration

- Strong skills in PowerShell, SSIS, and SQL Server automation

- Experience with SQL Server Always On, TDE, and enterprise patching

- Solid understanding of backup/restore procedures, disaster recovery, and incident management

- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills
