Client is a US company globally responsible for the development, manufacturing, and marketing of a leading portfolio of protocol exerciser & analyzer solutions, Oscilloscopes, Bit Error Ratio Testers (BERTs), Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWGs), Digitizers, Photonics, and Logic/Protocol analyzers.
Their products are at the heart of AI data centers, cloud infrastructure, next-generation computing platforms, and emerging technologies such as PCIe Gen6, CXL, and NVMe. We enable engineering teams across Computing, Semiconductors, Storage, Wireless, Aerospace & Defense, and AI industries to deliver faster, more reliable designs through deep insights and advanced analysis tools.
Role Overview:
As an FPGA Engineer on the Customer/Product/Partner Engineering (CPE) team, you will be the technical bridge between customers, the core engineering teams, and product support operations.
Job Description:
- Work on protocol exerciser & analyzer platforms for PCIe, CXL, and NVMe used in AI data centers and high-performance computing.
- Collaborate with core FPGA, hardware, and software teams, including system architects, to investigate and resolve issues.
- Handle customer escalations, reproduce and debug FPGA and board-level issues, and provide quick, effective fixes.
- Perform remote debugging, system characterization, and root cause analysis for protocol and hardware-related failures.
- Contribute to product stabilization and revenue-generating feature enhancements.
- Use AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate FPGA design, testbench creation, and verification workflows.
- Engage with the Operations/Factory (OF) team when hardware-related issues require replacement or repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate, reproduce, and resolve FPGA, software, and board-level issues for PCIe, CXL, and NVMe protocol exerciser & analyzer products.
- Collaborate with core FPGA, hardware, and software engineering teams in Germany, US, India, and Malaysia.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize high speed FPGA designs using VHDL or Verilog.
- Perform board-level debugging, high-speed interface characterization, and timing closure.
- Use Xilinx Vivado, Chipscope, and simulation tools (Synopsys, Mentor, Cadence, Vivado simulator) for synthesis, validation, and debug.
- Provide customer-facing remote debugging, interpret logs and traces, and deliver quick resolutions.
- Implement automated test environments and integrate AI-assisted coding to enhance productivity.
- Coordinate with the OF team for hardware replacements when required.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
Required Skills
- 3+ years of FPGA development, debug, or customer support experience in large, complex designs.
- Strong knowledge of PCIe, CXL, and NVMe protocols.
- Expertise in FPGA debugging, board-level troubleshooting, and signal integrity analysis.
- Experience in characterization of high-speed interfaces.
- Ability to operate in a customer-facing escalation role and coordinate across global teams.
