About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Caché / MUMPS Developer with strong expertise in RPMS or VA/VistA systems to support development, enhancement, and modernization of healthcare information systems. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in InterSystems technologies, healthcare data standards, and federal healthcare platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using InterSystems Caché ObjectScript and MUMPS.

- Work extensively on RPMS modules (e.g., FileMan, PCC, Billing, Pharmacy, Lab) or VistA/VA systems, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance.

- Build and maintain interfaces and data services using SQL, HL7, and custom integration layers.

- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization across legacy and modernized environments.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support RPMS/VistA enhancement initiatives and modernization efforts.

- Produce technical documentation, design specifications, and implementation guides.

- Ensure adherence to federal healthcare standards, data security, and interoperability protocols.

Must-Have Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with InterSystems Caché ObjectScript and MUMPS.

- Experience with RPMS (Resource and Patient Management System) or VistA / VA healthcare systems.

- Solid understanding of FileMan, PCC, Billing, Pharmacy, Lab, or other core RPMS modules.

- Working knowledge of SQL and HL7 for data extraction, transformation, and integration.

- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization skills.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with the InterSystems IRIS data platform.

- Exposure to FHIR implementation and healthcare interoperability.

- Experience supporting or participating in modernization initiatives such as transitioning RPMS/VistA to Cerner or other EHR platforms.
