Role Overview :


- The BPCS Developer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing BPCS ERP systems running on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platforms.

- This position focuses on application development and modification, integrating various systems, managing data, and supporting business operations.

- A central duty is ensuring system reliability and delivering program improvements that align with changing business needs.

Key Responsibilities :


- Ensuring the reliability of the system, maintaining the accuracy of integrated processes, and supporting ongoing business operations.

- Monitor and resolve issues related to BPCS batch jobs, particularly those associated with month-end and year-end financial closings, to guarantee precise and prompt completion of financial and inventory activities.

- Collaborate closely with Finance and Operations teams to address and resolve issues that could impact on the timeliness of financial closings.

- Develop, modify, and maintain RPG (III/IV/ILE) programs within the BPCS environment, implementing enhancements based on business needs.

- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure all program changes are robust, efficient, and maintainable.

- Ensure that internal development standardssuch as coding conventions and best practices are followed, and that all updates and changes are thoroughly documented.

- Support integration between BPCS and other enterprise systems, such as Cognos, TM1, and WMS (Red Prairie/Blue Yonder).

- Maintain data integrity and assist with data migration efforts as required.

- Provide Level 2/3 support for BPCS-related incidents, analyze root causes, and implement permanent solutions.

Required Skills & Experience :

Technical :


- Strong proficiency in RPG (III/IV/ILE) and CL programming on IBM iSeries.

- Firsthand experience with BPCS ERP modules, including Finance, Inventory, and Manufacturing.

- Solid understanding of SQL and DB2 for i.

Functional :


- Comprehensive understanding of period-end financial processes and reporting, along with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing and distribution.

- This includes the ability to support closing cycles and ensure data accuracy across finance, inventory, and production operations within an ERP environment.

- Ability to work efficiently and maintain high performance even when facing tight project deadlines.

- Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, enabling the identification of complex issues and the development of effective solutions.

- Apply logical reasoning and critical thinking to analyze data, troubleshoot technical and functional challenges, and implement improvements that enhance overall system performance and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience integrating BPCS with reporting tools such as Cognos and TM1.

- Integrated BPCS with WMS and TMS systems.
